Lake Casitas Loop – June ’25

About the Ride

Beginning in Ventura, follow the Ojai/Ventura bike path until forking off on Casitas Vista Rd. which will wrap you around the scenic Lake Casitas. Take this road until reaching highway 150, where you will unlock even more views of the lake while meandering up and down steep terrain. This part is not for the feint of heart! Temperatures often reach 80 degrees Fahrenheit or beyond in late Spring and Summer months, so pack lots of water. The highway will eventually turn into an enjoyable downhill for several miles, where you will fly through beautiful live oak groves and avocado orchards — not to mention a fantastic view of the ocean before reaching Bates Road, which empties out to the revered surf Mecca known as Rincon. From here, simply follow the scenic coastal bike path back to Ventura. This last leg follows the coast the full duration, and has many opportunities to pull over and visit a beach or two — so pack a bathing suit!
