Baja Mexico – April ’25

Metal seagulls above the sweeping ocean vistas in Las Gaviotas, B.C. (“gaviota” in English translates to seagull, so these gulls found the right place!)

The Trip

Jesse and I were in need of a road trip. For myself, I had been living at home in Goleta for close to three months, dedicated to applying for jobs on LinkedIn and other sites. After applying to over 100 jobs (each with their own Cover Letter) I was feeling burned out. Jesse had been worked to the bone as a bartender in Santa Barbara, and hadn’t had a proper vacation for over a year. It was time to hit the road.

Rosarito

During our time in Baja California, Jesse and I partook in many of the touristy activities typical for native Santa Barbarians. We surfed, explored, and of course enjoyed our fair share of bargain priced Mexican cervezas. The photos on the right are of Jesse (top) and I (bottom) at the iconic Rosarito beach hotel. The drinks are stiff and priced at a meager $6 per cocktail. If you go, ask for the Papaya Mai Tai and you will not be treated to a delicious concoction served with a fresh piece of papaya on the rim. Cheers!

More baja fun.
